Leslie Segrete is a home improvement expert with an eye for design and the skills to get the job done. She knows what turns a house into a home and has the tips and ideas to make improvements easy and fun.
Leslie's home improvement skills span radio, television and print. For the past six years, Leslie Segrete has worked hard making design dreams reality as a carpenter and designer for TLC's hit series Trading Spaces and While You Were Out, Leslie designs, builds and executes projects to please the participating families and millions of her fans every single week. Leslie is currently filming a new series called The Ugliest House on The Block, which premieres in January 2008 on the We Network. In this new series Leslie is designing dramatic exterior makeovers that benefit the whole community. She is also back at work with her friends at Trading Spaces filming brand new episodes and helping to welcome back Paige Davis to the team.
Besides television, Leslie also co-hosts The Money Pit, a nationally syndicated home improvement radio program heard on over 237 radio stations around the nation as well as on XM. Talkers Magazine named Leslie to their prestigious Heavy Hundred list of the "100 Most Important Talk Show Hosts in America." The Money Pit's first book, My Home My Money Pit will be on shelves August of 2008 and be the homeowners guide to all home improvement adventures.
Since October of 2007, Leslie became an editor at large for Country Home Magazine, creating their popular Shop Girl monthly feature. On these pages you will find simple projects that make beautiful additions to your homes dÈcor, as well as product recommendations and seasonal tips to keep your home gorgeous and functional. Check out her new ideas every month on the pages of Country Home, available on newsstands everywhere.
Before TLC, Leslie's wide-ranging professional background including Head of Set Design for the Oxygen Network, where she designed and over saw the daily production of twenty programs produced in their New York Studios, Art Director at The Ricki Lake Show, stage work and prep cooking for Good Morning America, in addition to creating set and props for many theatrical productions in New York City. She also enjoys cooking and even holds a degree from the French Culinary Institute. In the autumn of 2008, Leslie's book Fear Not: You can Reupholster Anything will be out from Sterling Publishing.
Leslie is a seamstress, carpenter, decorator, designer and professional chef all wrapped up in one very energetic package. She's a true renaissance woman through and through!
